Nurture, All is Joy

People viewing work at an exhibition

In May, we participated in an exhibition at All is Joy in Soho, showcasing work created by staff, artists, facilitators, and groups involved with Creative Health Camden. Engage Here contributed monoprints and a hanging mobile crafted by participants from our workshops at the Kentish Town Health Centre.

Creative Health Camden aims to improve mental and physical well-being through arts and holistic care. This approach has led to a model that socially prescribes existing patients to programs like our own "Make Sense," alongside other classes such as "Dance for Parkinson's," "Breathing for Wellbeing," and "Freedom to Make." While Kentish Town Health Centre has its own successful exhibition space, the event at All is Joy in Soho provided a platform to present this model in Central London and showcase the remarkable work produced.

Our workshop model typically prioritizes the process over the final outcome, emphasizing the cultivation of an artistic practice that participants can utilize independently to enhance their well-being. However, events like this exhibition, where participants can invite loved ones to view their creations, empower them to demonstrate their ability to thrive despite living with conditions like dementia or mild cognitive impairment. Inspired by this, we plan to present selected works from our workshops in our Gallery and organize our own exhibition in September. More details to follow.
